The Vivian A. Carr Award, established in 2014, recognizes outstanding women for their achievements in the wireless industry.
Vivian Carr had a 40-year career in the electronic and telecommunications industry, working for the world-famous Bell Laboratories in New York City as a senior executive, and for AT&T at the corporation’s New York headquarters. She blazed a trail for women in the profession and became the first female member of the Engineers’ Club of New York, was a Senior Lifetime Member if IEEE, and the first female member of the Radio Club of America. Vivian was also the president of the RCA from 2011-2012.
